Clever comeback, but Lauren was criticizing Speaker Pelosi for attempting to work with the only other party that currently has much representation in Congress. I agree that the GOP is currently under the control of fanatics, but for the moment, they're the only other game in town and at least 40% of the electorate voted for their candidates. Suggesting that they have no place in a democracy, as you do, is both wrong and dangerous.
You and Lauren are free to start a new party. All you need is enough votes to elect candidates. The Constitution says nothing for or against multiple parties, but 3rd and 4th parties have rarely been successful in American politics. Sometimes, when parties, like the Federalists fail they are replaced by new parties like the Whigs, who in turn were replaced by the Republicans. I was hopeful that Trump had killed the GOP, but he only fed its corruption.
For representative government to work, there has to be compromise and give and take. Not everyone sees the world in the same way. Criticizing Speaker Pelosi's attempts to make democracy work is counterproductive. Mitch McConnell showed what happens when you don't.
