How many times has Musk screwed up and been bailed out by government money (or its more politically palatable alternative, tax breaks)? Great leaders orchestrate the talents of teams to achieve great things. Autocrats are limited by their own weaknesses. Insecure autocrats never really learn.
Musk is inconceivably wealthy because of the stacked deck of our existing financial systems. Can a democracy afford to permit the power that extreme wealth grants to the ultra wealthy? Our system of government is based upon equality of representation and checks and balances on the exercise of power. Sadly, that does not apply to people like Musk.
